Injury and Violence Prevention
The mission of the Injury and Violence Prevention (IVP) Section of the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is to coordinate efforts, prioritize needs, share resources, and promote effective approaches to injury prevention through education, advocacy, data collection, and evaluation. Our vision is to reduce the burden of injury on Arkansas. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), injury is the leading cause of death for people aged 1-44. Injury and violence can be both fatal and nonfatal. This could include suicide, homicides, falls, and intimate partner violence, but is not limited to other forms of injury and violence. The Arkansas Department of Health is committed to preventing injury and violence among Arkansans.
